Nominee for Outstanding Debut Author in Multicultural Romance 2014
(In Her Own Words) I absolutely love writing and have since I was a wee child running free on the moors of Ireland...just kidding. Well, about running around on the moors of Ireland but the love of writing is correct!
Growing up as the youngest in a large, military family, my best memories were of taking a Madeline L'Engle or a Sweet Valley High book to a quiet corner and becoming engrossed in the words before me. And as I got older I learned to appreciate the greats such as Shakespeare, Wilde, Stevenson, etc but still engrossed in such American favorites such as Koontz, King and Lindsey, along with a host of others.
Reading so many wonderful books took me to a world where the impossible was possible, where nothing was outside the realm of your imagination and thoughts. I wrote my first book at fourteen years of age and through middle school and college I was pushed by my English, Literature and Creative Writing teachers because they saw that special spark of a writer in me.
Now, no way do I compare myself to the greats but I know I have a long and fulfilling career ahead of me. I love to write, if I had all the money in the world I would still write. Writing is a part of me, as much as my toes or fingers, I breathe it in and exhale words upon paper, from my sparks of imagination that I refuse to contain.
And I thank you, Reader, for joining me on my quest, to imagine the perfect, or not so perfect worlds, where love is ever lasting and sweet, where the impossible is possible, where people can do anything, from being a mermaid to flying through space and time.
Thank you once again for all of your support and I pray for the best to all of you. Never be held back by your own fears, never be held back by what society dictates is correct and proper. Run after your dreams and goals, your hopes and passion. Never stop believing.
