Multicultural romance novelist J. J. Murray, who also uses the pseudonym "H. M. Mann" to write multicultural novels in all genres, grew up in New York (Huntington), New Jersey (Plainfield), Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh), Missouri (St. Louis), Indiana (West Lafayette and College Corners), and Ohio (Marietta), and has now lived more than half his life in southwest Virginia.
J. J. taught public high school English for 20 years to students who sometimes actually spoke it. He is currently lead teacher in a wilderness residential school for at-risk young men.
He met his wife, Amy Renee, in the fall of 1989, and their four-year courtship forms the basis of his first novel, Renee and Jay. The first ten years of their marriage form the basis for Renee and Jay 2. They have two sons, Joshua Malik and Jontae Emmanuel, and a boxer/lab named Lovie.
J. J. is also the author of 14 multicultural "H. M. Mann" novels and books for the Kindle through Amazon.com and creates "hubs" (articles) on multicultural life, writing, and publishing on HubPages.com.
