Kindle Alexander
Nominee for Outstanding Author in GLBT Literature 2014
Nomination Thanks
Forever, I will remember the day I opened Angeline Bishop's email explaining The Angie award nomination for The Current Between Us. I remember being so confused. I read the message, and re-read the message just completely shocked. Alright, the truth was that I actually thought this was spam. On nothing more than her well stated words - which didn't have the spam feel, I clicked the link to her page. I think it took about three time of watching the video for me to believe this was actually happening. Now, I've found when you're in such a state of denial, it's so incredibly difficult to write a thank you letter. So, I've decided to speak from the heart, and let the rest fall into place.
The Current Between Us was my first solo project. For the first time, my writing partner didn't write a story with me. The entire time I wrote, I kept thinking to myself - how would Aidan say this, or think that, trying to come up with what she might say. I missed her so much while writing this story. When the story completed, all I could hope was that I did her justice. Thank you Aidan for being the voice inside my head, and my heart. This is our nomination together.
Everyone knows I don't have readers, I consider them my friends. Words will never describe the gratitude I hold in my heart for you. I truly believe I'm the luckiest person on the planet to have developed such strong friendships and bonds. Thank you. And thank you for all the love on this story. I'm so glad you liked Gage, Trent, Em and Hunter! You guys rock!
Thank you to all the bloggers who pushed this book. I'm forever grateful. Thank you, my Kindle! I'll love you forever.
Angeline Bishop and everyone working toward The Angie, you are the best. You won't ever know how exciting this is to me. Thank you for this tremendous honor. You've put me in such great company. And to all the nominees for this year's Angie award, congratulations! You guys are the best. They did such an outstanding job sorting through all the possibilities.
