Matthew Bradley Walker is nine and a half years old, and the oldest child of Janet and Roland Walker. He loves his family and is very responsible and protective of his younger brothers. He likes how his Uncles Graham, Jaiden and Latrell say Matt and his siblings will be the next chapter of powerful Sheridan men but he’s a Walker. And like his father always says, “Walker men know when to walk away and know when to talk. And when we talk, you better believe you want to listen to what we have to say.” Matt is in a revered but somewhat difficult position in the Walker family. His parents are brilliant so he’s often burdened by exceedingly high parental expectations. For a short time, he was the only child that gained undivided attention from his parents and grandparents. So as a young child, his every move was under scrutiny. A quick check of most of the Walker family photo albums shows twice as many photos of him than any other child - particularly when he was a baby and toddler. Matt knows his first born position is almost regal and worth preserving. The arrival of Mark altered this idyllic situation so Matt often spends a great deal of their time and energy demonstrating his superiority over others. "Look mum he's being bad again" is often his anthem as Matt goes to great lengths to show parents how much better than his younger siblings he can be. Matt strives to be the trail-blazer for his brothers to follow. And he enjoys the way they look up to him. His father, Roland works very hard to remind him leadership is a big responsibility that must be tempered with empathy and compassion. |
