Nia Forrester
Winner for Outstanding Author in African-American Romance 2014
Nomination Thanks
Words alone cannot express how humbled I am by this nomination.
As someone who has written creatively for almost as long as she could write, but who only began her publishing journey last year, this is an extraordinary validation that I am doing what I was meant to do. When I released my first book, Commitment Angeline M. Bishop was the first person in the writing community to extend words of encouragement and praise for my work, and I remain deeply appreciative of that. So, to be nominated for an award named by (and for) her, is like coming full circle.
It has become the standard line for nominees to say that are honored just to have been considered, but in my case, it is absolutely the truth. To stand shoulder-to-shoulder with writers like Delaney Diamond and Keith Thomas Walker--whose work I admire-- and be considered a peer is an award in and of itself.
Thank you so much for reading my work, and recognizing the heart and soul that went into it.
Warm Regards
