Valerie Lorren Aldana is the wife of Andre Aldana and mother to Caresse and Xavier. She understands and cares about people, and has a special talent for bringing out the best in others. Her main interest in life is giving love, and support to other people. She is focused on understanding, supporting, and encouraging others in her community endeavors. She makes things happen for people, and gets personal satisfaction from doing this. She totally adores her granddaughters, Nyla and Messina, and loves that they embrace music as much as she does. In a perfect world, her two little angels would sing in her church children’s choir, and have solos each month, but their lives in New Jersey don’t permit that. Instead, Valerie makes sure she flies into New Jersey at least three times a year with her camcorder in hand. Right now, Valerie is working hard to remember her parental boundaries with Caresse. She understands that she must let her daughter fail sometimes and not fix everything for her. She makes sure that if Caresse is upset about something, she does her active listening, rather than try to take away her daughter's pain. It was hard to watch Caresse go through a painful marriage and divorce but she let Caresse fix that situation herself. As a mother, she feels responsible for her daughter’s happiness but luckily her husband Andre helps her keep this feeling from overwhelming her mother-daughter relationship with Caresse. |
