Let me start out by saying, yesterday started a little shaky but it ended on the BEST note ever! God blessed me in more way than I could have ever imagined. By making my crooked places straight and bring me more happiness than I thought was possible. My good treasure is too personal to share now but I promise to enlighten all of you in the next couple months. Now on to my latest post. One of my Soul Mate author friends shared a video today dealing with creativity from the Ted website. The main message was that our society sees some people as geniuses, meaning their brilliance and creativity comes from within them. But in ancient times, genius was considered to be a disembodied other that would inspire brilliance and creativity in human beings. In this video, Author Elizabeth Gilbert illustrates the writing genius in the poet Ruth Stone who, as a young person working in the fields in rural Virginia, would hear a poem rushing at her and start racing to find a pen and a piece of paper so she could record before it passed her by. If she was able to record it, wonderful; if she missed her chance, the poem was meant for someone else. I know all of us aren’t pipelines for the writing genius; some of us have to work, sweat and pray that we will brush up against something brilliant. Sometimes we writing something great and sometimes we don’t, but we have to spend time at the laptop and put in the work or it’ll never happen. Please watch this video if you’re a writer. It will help you put your writing muse in check.
